Lydia Rebehn

A few words from the artist:
John Singer Sargent once said, "Every time I paint a portrait I
lose a friend." I personally can't think of a better way describe
the process. Drawing is like transposing your soul onto paper. You can
spend days, even weeks, where it's just you, the pencil and that same
piece of paper, until you know it down to the last imperfection in the
grain. Everyday's emotions are poured into that paper, each subtly affecting
the mood of the art. Giving up the piece afterwards is like slicing off
a portion of your past, or perhaps it could be likened to giving up one's
child. I try to treat all my art as the latter -- a child you've created
and are sending off to makes its mark in the world. That is the exact
purpose of my art: to make a mark.
Lydia creates custom portraits and would love to work with you to create
your own truly unique piece of artwork . If you are interested in commissioning
a portrait or if you have any questions, she can be reached by phone at
(320)589-3254 or e-mail: groovybluesgirl@frontiernet.net.
