Tami Montgomery-Henriksen

Bio:
Tami Montgomery-Henriksen, of Montevideo, has been drawing and painting
for years and is finally having her debut art exhibit. She has studied
art in many different places, including Texas, Florida, Arizona and, of
course, Minnesota. Studying art in Texas was very influential for Tami,
as she fell in-love with the Southwest style of art. Her art teachers
had her draw still life set-ups, which included bones. She studied Georgia
O’Keefe’s work and began to appreciate more and more the different
colors and texture of bones, and that bones themselves have a story to
tell.
Tami studied at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas under Ann Miller.
She also studied art under Edward Evans at Southwest State University
in Marshall, MN.
Tami's first love is drawing -- especially people and faces. Her goal
is to capture the mood or the attitude of the moment. Every new drawing
is an adventure to try and capture that “life” of the whole
moment.
She is very fond of oils, but has also worked with watercolors and acrylics.
However, she especially loves the richness of oils. She feels art is a
powerful thing, and wants to inspire others to live their lives with desire
and purpose.
