Anne Borgendale
Bio:
Anne Borgendale grew up on a Lac qui Parle County dairy farm. She is a 2000 graduate of Montevideo Senior High School and will graduate in May from the University of Minnesota, Morris with a degree in chemistry and a minor in biology. After taking several drawing classes over the years, in the fall of 2003 Anne took her first formal photography course. She is currently studying under Therese Buchmiller at UMM.
Most of her photographs were taken using an SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera with low-speed black and white film. Many of her color photographs were taken using a digital camera. She usually does not have any particular style in mind when shooting. However, some of the subjects she finds most interesting are those which would typically be considered "boring" or "ugly." She is especially interested in capturing the world that she knows best -- southwestern Minnesota -- but from a new view and angle. Though she has not done many portraits, the portrait work that she finds most interesting is that which captures some aspect of the person other than his or her face. Anne looks forward to continue to photograph new subjects and old subjects in new ways.
